American Muslim Advocacy Network (AMAN)

A Faith-Based Movement for Unity, Empowerment, and Peaceful Coexistence

The American Muslim Advocacy Network (AMAN) is a non-profit, religious, and faith-based organization founded to serve the religious, spiritual, educational, and social welfare needs of Muslim Americans. It was born out of a critical need to foster unity and empower the vast majority of imams and scholars in the United States who uphold a Sufi-oriented understanding of Islam—grounded in peace, tolerance, love, and coexistence.

The American society has consistently upheld the values of freedom, dignity, and pluralism. It has welcomed people of every race, ethnicity, and faith, including over four million Muslims who now live honorable and fulfilling lives across the United States. This welcoming environment has enabled the establishment of approximately 3,000 mosques and Islamic centers, along with hundreds of Islamic schools, madrasas, and religious organizations—operating freely in accordance with their religious and cultural traditions.

However, alongside these developments, there remains a small yet ideologically unified and resourceful extremist segment within the American Muslim community. Despite their minority status, they wield disproportionate influence due to their financial strength, manpower, and internal cohesion. This group operates across humanitarian sectors, Islamic centers, and religious institutions, often sidelining the broader, peace-loving Muslim majority and projecting a distorted image of Islam that lacks any real spirit of gratitude or goodwill toward the country.

In contrast, the majority of imams and scholars in the U.S.—who represent mainstream Sunni Islam with a Sufi inclination—remain without a unified platform. As a result, their voices are fragmented, and their potential influence remains underutilized, despite being numerically dominant and socially respected. AMAN was established to address this critical gap—to unite and empower this silent majority and to construct an alternative narrative based on the timeless values of Islamic spirituality and American civic virtue.
