About the National Imam Council (NIC)

The National Imam Council (NIC) is a national platform dedicated to empowering imams and religious leaders across the United States. Rooted in the mission of AMAN, NIC strives to provide comprehensive religious, legal, moral, social, and economic support to imams, helping them serve their communities more effectively and with dignity. We are committed to strengthening the position of imams by fostering unity, mutual respect, and collaboration across diverse Muslim communities.

What We Offer

Departments of AMAN

AMAN functions through a structured departmental framework to address the diverse needs of the community. These departments include:

National Imam Council (NIC)

A national platform to unify imams and religious leaders, offering them religious, legal, social, and economic support while empowering them through collective action.

Hilal Council of America

A body of qualified scholars committed to establishing a scientifically sound and traditionally grounded moon sighting system to unify Islamic calendar observances.

American Fatwa Council

A council of scholars offering Islamic legal guidance on social, spiritual, and domestic issues through accessible digital platforms and direct consultation.

Interfaith Initiatives

Programs aimed at strengthening relations with other faith communities through interfaith dialogues, community dinners, and cultural exchange events.

Islamic Traditional Madrasas and Schools

Institutions that provide traditional Islamic education while promoting peace, spiritual development, and positive integration into American society.

Human Welfare Services

Humanitarian projects to support the elderly, women, and underserved populations, regardless of faith, ethnicity, or background.

Media Network

A media wing, including a dedicated TV channel and social platforms, to share authentic Islamic teachings and counter extremist narratives with messages of patriotism, coexistence, and compassion.

Spiritual Growth

Conducting weekly Halqa-e-Zikr sessions for inner peace and spiritual purification (tazkiya), nurturing hearts through Sufi teachings and promoting a message of love, harmony, and spiritual awakening under the guidance of the National Imam Council.
